Object of the invention.
The object of the invention is a printable semi-rigid support; comprising a sandwich type plate consisting of: two semi-rigid outer sheets, of polypropylene, polyethylene, polyester, PVC, or other similar materials capable of being printed, forming the two major faces of the plate; and an intermediate layer, preferably of polystyrene foam, which acts as a joint element of the two outer sheets.
This printable semi-rigid support has constructive particulars oriented to allow its winding, minimizing the space necessary for transport and storage.
Field of application of the invention.
This invention is applicable in the field dedicated to the manufacture of printable semi-rigid supports.
State of the art.
Currently, there are different printable semi-rigid supports on the market, which have a flat-plate configuration consisting of two semi-rigid outer sheets that make up the two faces or larger surfaces of the support in question and an intermediate layer, preferably of polystyrene foam, which acts of joining element of the two semi-rigid outer sheets.

These semi-rigid supports have different applications, for example in the construction of printed backgrounds (photocall) for advertising, photography or various events.
These semi-rigid supports are generally marketed in a two by three meter format, which complicates and especially makes their transport more expensive. This is due to the fact that the transport of goods becomes more expensive when the product to be transport exceeds certain dimensions, which is the case of these semi-rigid supports that are of small thickness, generally less than fifteen millimeters, but of a length and width important.
In addition, the semi-rigid character of these printable supports, as a plate, carries a significant risk of deterioration during transport, since their bending or folding can cause a crushing of the intermediate layer and a permanent deformation of the printed outer sheet leaving the printed unusable support.
The applicant of the present invention is unaware of the existence of a background that allows the problem described above to be satisfactorily resolved.
Description of the invention
The printable semi-rigid support object of the invention; comprising a sandwich plate consisting of two semi-rigid outer sheets forming the two major faces of the support and an intermediate layer, preferably of polystyrene foam, which acts as a connecting element of the two outer sheets; It presents some characteristics oriented to allow its rolling in order to facilitate and reduce its transport and storage.
For this, and according to the invention, this support comprises on one of the faces of the plate a series of parallel channels that affect the outer lamina of the corresponding face and at least a part of the thickness of the intermediate layer,

said channels having a length equal to that of the plate.
In an embodiment of the invention these channels have a rectangular section and are uniformly interdistanced, allowing the curving and winding of the plate; so that, once the plate is rolled, the carrier face of the channels is oriented towards the inner area and the smooth face oriented towards the outside.
This feature therefore allows the rolling of the semi-rigid support, reducing the space necessary for its transport or storage, and consequently the cost of transport, also reducing the risk of deterioration of the support.
The two outer sheets can be made of polypropylene, polyethylene, polyester, PVC or other similar materials that can be printed; while the intermediate layer is constituted by an expanded or extruded polystyrene foam.

Preferred embodiment of the invention.
As can be seen in Figures 1 and 2, the printable semi-rigid support of the invention comprises a sandwich plate (1), consisting of two printable outer sheets (11, 12), front and back respectively, and an intermediate layer ( 13). In this exemplary embodiment, the two outer sheets (11, 12) are made of polypropylene, and the intermediate layer (13) of extruded polystyrene foam.
The plate (1) constituting the support comprises on its rear face a series of parallel channels (14), forming parts of curved and rolled plate (1). Said channels (1) affect the outer sheet (12) and a part of the thickness of the intermediate layer (13), without affecting the outer sheet (11) forming the front face of the plate (1) and intended To be printed.
As can be seen in figure 3, the mentioned channels (14), which extend over the entire width of the plate (1), allow the winding of said plate (1), in order to facilitate the storage and transport of the support.
In one embodiment of the invention the channels are separated by a distance between 10 and 15 millimeters and have a width between 2 and 5 mm; the depth of said channels (14) depending on the thickness of the plate (1).
